Current Internship Opportunities

Are you looking for a way your students can gain valuable on-the-job experience while becoming involved in their community? The American Red Cross offers full and part-time internship positions for high school, undergraduate and graduate students. These internship positions offer students the opportunity to explore their career opportunities while developing their personal and professional skills "on-the-job."

Notice Concerning Background Checks:

All volunteer applicants are required to participate in a background check prior to engaging in volunteer service with the American Red Cross. Anyone who does not successfully complete the background check process will not be eligible to volunteer with the Red Cross.

Following is a list of current internship openings.

Community Health Program Support Intern

This internship opportunity gives students a wide variety of experiences, including program areas of flu shots, HIV/AIDS education, and family caregiving. Interns will have a chance to learn more about the role the American Red Cross plays in community health.

Social Work Intern

By using Red Cross resources, Social Work interns advise and counsel individuals and families to determine their disaster-caused needs and help to provide them with the basics of food, clothing and shelter. Social Work interns assist with military, international and disaster-related situations.

Youth Development Intern

These interns develop youth curriculum and can learn to teach some of the classes as well. By becoming a Youth Instructor, you will visit area schools, clubs and organizations to teach young people safety information. Help children ages 3 through the teens learn first aid, babysitting and home safety skills to help prepare them for a variety of emergency situations.
