Break out the bow ties and grab the high heels
We are proud to announce that the Red Ball 2009 Honorary Chairman is Mike Chesser, chairman and chief executive officer of Great Plains Energy, KCP&L’s parent company. We are also thrilled to report that Joe Donnelly, senior vice president of Lockton Companies, will be returning as the event co-chairman this year with his wife Suzanne. Likewise, Willie Lanier, Jr. is returning as event co-chairman, and his wife Kelly will be joining him.
Last year, more than 1,000 people gathered for a night of dinner, dancing and fund raising when the Sprint Center went red for a night on Feb. 15. Guests arrived and enjoyed a cocktail hour, followed by an elegant sit-down dinner, a brief program and an evening of dancing.
The Temptations Review filled the arena with the sounds of their upbeat classics, bringing the guests to their feet. Then the KC All Stars wrapped up the night, sending the evening energy through the roof while partygoers danced until midnight.
Thanks to our presenting sponsor, Lockton Companies, as well as many other generous sponsors and guests, we raised $329,100, which has helped support all of the Chapter's programs and services that help keep our community safe and healthy.
