The American Red Cross relies on the generosity of the American public. With your ongoing support, we can continue to keep America strong through our various programs including: Disaster Relief Services, Family Emergency Services, Critical Lifesaving Services and 24-hour military assistance.
There are several ways you can support the work of your local Red Cross:

Donate Stock
Electronic delivery of stock is the most secure and expedient delivery process available and provides efficient internal control as well as cost savings. However, you may also transfer certificates directly. To help you facilitate a gift of stock, please call our development office at 816-841-5291.

Notification of Donor Intent
Regardless of the method chosen to deliver a gift of stock, the donor or the transferring broker must provide the following information, for audit and acknowledgment purposes:
Donor's name and complete address
Name and number of securities transferred
Specific Red Cross program to which gift should be directed, if any

Donate In-Kind Products
The Red Cross is unable to accept small, individual donations or collection items such as clothing, food or cleaning supplies. The cost to sort, package and distribute these types of donations to disaster victims is almost always greater than the cost of purchasing the items locally, and it is logistically impossible to distribute a wide variety of individual items in a meaningful way. Because of these costs and logistical concerns, we recommend that you support your community by donating these items to an organization that is equipped to put them to the best possible local use.
However, donations of sizeable, bulk items are reviewed to determine if they meet a current need for disaster victims that can be addressed by the Red Cross. Bulk donations are typically new, shrink-wrapped and palletized and are transported by the donor. If you would like to discuss this type of donation, please contact our development office at 816-841-5252.
Donate Spare Change
Just by bringing your spare change to the grocery store, you can help the American Red Cross bring relief to disaster victims in our community and across the country.
If half of Americans living within 2 miles of a Coinstar machine donated just $1 in spare change to the Red Cross, it would raise more than $65 million to support American Red Cross lifesaving services in communities nationwide!
(Please note that some Coinstar machines are not yet equipped with the donation option. To confirm that your grocery store can accept donations to the American Red Cross, please call 1-800-928-CASH.)
Planned Giving
Whether supported through an outright gift or planned gift, all Red Cross programs are made possible through the generosity and commitment of people like you. A planned gift to the Greater Kansas City Red Cross helps to ensure the future of the services and programs we provide in our community and may further your financial goals.
What are planned gifts? Planned gifts include gifts through your will, charitable gift annuities, gifts of life insurance, pooled funds and charitable trusts.
