Red Cross aiding victims of multifamily apartment fire
Volunteers deployed to make sure no one is left out in the cold.
The American Red Cross of Greater Kansas City is assisting those displaced by today’s early morning multifamily apartment fire at 107 N. Gladstone Blvd. in Kansas City, Mo.
Six Red Cross workers have been deployed and are assisting 27 people with immediate needs including funds for food, clothing, medicine and baby needs. Hotel rooms have been arranged for eight families without a place to stay.
This is only the beginning of the assistance the Red Cross will offer the residents the fire has affected. As part of our mission to help families rebuild their lives, Red Cross caseworkers will be in communication with the victims well after today. Based on a formula of need, other assistance can be made available including funds to help families get back into permanent housing, for replacement furniture, medicine and other needs.
