Kansas City Red Cross Responds to Southwest Missouri Disaster
Volunteers Provide Communication Aid
The Greater Kansas City Chapter of the American Red Cross dispatched three volunteers Sunday to aid victims of southwest Missouri’s deadly tornadoes. Two volunteers drove the Chapter’s emergency communications vehicle to Joplin, Mo., to provide vital communication capabilities to the disaster’s first responders and emergency service providers.
The Chapter deployed its volunteers to the scene within hours to provide immediate emergency services, and it has placed other volunteers on stand-by in case further assistance is needed. The residents of Seneca, Mo., can be assured that the Red Cross is there to provide relief and reassurance in the form of food, water, clothing, shelter and financial assistance.
