Greater Kansas City Red Cross needs 50 full-time volunteers
The American Red Cross needs your help in recruiting volunteers. We are in the middle of a huge disaster relief effort from hurricanes Gustav and Ike that is expected to continue for some time. Nationally, there are 5,400 volunteers on the Gulf Coast, more in other disaster areas across the country, and we don’t know when another disaster will strike.
To do our part, the Greater Kansas City Chapter will recruit
50 new national disaster volunteers
who are committed to being Red Cross trained and ready to be deployed for Hurricane Ike or future disasters.
There will be an informational meeting on
Monday, Sept. 22, at 9 a.m.
The first training session for those who have signed up will be on
Wednesday, Sept. 24, starting at 9 a.m.
, it will be an all day session. Both meetings will be at the Greater Kansas City Chapter, 211 W. Armour Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. 64111.
