Family Caregiving

Caring for a parent, spouse or friend in a home setting, ensuring a safe environment and providing even the most basic care can be overwhelming. Family Caregiving is a National Red Cross program that offers training sessions that help caregivers gain new skills and a better understanding of how to provide safe care in the home. There is no charge for the classes. The classes are taught using booklets and DVDs, along with hands-on training and hands-on practice with mannequins when appropriate.

Classes can be taught in three different ways:
1. In a public classroom setting (on-site or off-site)
2. As a seminar, in conjunction with other healthcare professionals
3. Customized classes for family members/friends in private homes

For those who are looking for assistance, but prefer to study the information at home, at their own pace when it is convenient, click here to purchase a quick reference guide with a companion DVD.
