Community Health Provider Opportunities

The American Red Cross is dedicated to helping promote good health through our community service programs. If you possess an interest in helping others stay informed about their health and have a tender and sensitive attitude when interacting with others, you may want to volunteer as a community health provider. A medical background is often not required, and any necessary training will be provided.

Blood Drives
Every two minutes someone in our area needs blood. As a result, there is an ongoing need to replenish the blood supply. As a Blood Drive Volunteer, you can help by becoming a greeter or by distributing refreshments to our donors at one of the drives scheduled throughout the year.

Flu Shot Clinics
Each fall and winter, the flu arrives. As a Flu Shot Nurse, you will administer shots that will provide the needed protection to help people turn the cold shoulder to the flu. (An R.N. or L.P.N. license is required to administer flu shots.)
