Instructor OpportunitiesEach year, more than 60,000 Kansas City area residents rely on Red Cross health and safety programs. If you have public speaking or teaching experience and enjoy helping people one on one, a volunteer career as an instructor may be for you. By demonstrating ways to prevent life threatening emergencies you will be sharing the knowledge necessary to help people live longer and healthier lives.
CPR and First Aid
As a CPR or First Aid Instructor, you will help others gain peace of mind when they learn emergency skills that can save lives. Each Red Cross course is developed in collaboration with leading medical authorities and reflects up-to-date information and techniques.
Family Caregiving
Today, it seems that families are being faced with care-giving responsibilities like never before. As a Family Caregiving Instructor, you will use your knowledge to help people learn the basics of quality care – bed baths, range of motion exercises, vital signs and more. (An R.N. or L.P.N. license is required).
Youth Program
You are never too young to learn emergency skills. By becoming a Youth Instructor, you will visit area schools, clubs and organizations to teach young people home safety. Children ages 5 through the teens can learn first aid, babysitting and home safety skills to help prepare them for a variety of emergency situations.
