American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Corss Movement, provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.  

 

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has a Kansas City office and is an independent agency of the federal government. It works to help people prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from natural disasters.

 

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) seeks to collaborate to create the expertise, information, and tools that people and communities need to protect their health—through health promotion, prevention of disease, injury and disability, and preparedness for new health threats. 

 

The Weather Channel provides a national and local weather forecast for cities, as well as weather radar, report and hurricane coverage.

National Weather Services (NWS) provides weather, hydrologic, and climate forecasts and warnings for the United States, its territories, adjacent waters and ocean areas, for the protection of life and property and the enhancement of the national economy. NWS data and products form a national information database and infrastructure which can be used by other governmental agencies, the private sector, the public, and the global community.
